KJ Kitchen
A moment to unwind in the city.
An introduction to the menu at KJ Kitchen in Okubo, Hyakunincho, spanning street bites like cheese balls and fish cakes to sizzling samgyeopsal sets and whole-chicken dakhanmari.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
KJ Kitchen offers a broad selection suited to everything from quick snacks to shared hot pots. Located on the 1nd floor of the Kokusai Plaza Building in Shinjuku's Hyakunincho, it operates with an easygoing counter-and-table atmosphere where visitors can drop by for casual Korean bites or sit down for a full meal.
For a lighter pause between stops, the kitchen fries up cheese balls, skewers of sausage and rice cake known as sotteok sotteok, and Korean fish cake steeped in warm broth. Chicken selections—including sweet-and-spicy yangnyeom, savory soy sauce chicken, and powdered prinkle chicken—make sharing simple.
When an appetite calls for more, the set-meal line is substantial. Offerings include teppan-grilled samgyeopsal and dak-galbi served on sizzling iron plates, crisp Korean tonkatsu, bibimbap sets, and cold noodle combinations, all well-suited to individual diners. Soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) and rich ox bone soup (seollongtang) provide comforting soup alternatives.
For groups gathering around a simmering pot, the dakhanmari made with 1 whole domestic chicken is a centerpiece. The pot simmers with Korean rice cakes, garlic chives, green onions, and king oyster mushrooms, and can be finished with extra ramen or udon noodles to catch every bit of the broth.
In addition to dine-in service, storefront pickup and delivery are available. Finishing the meal with a warm honey hotteok offers a sweet concluding touch.
